This afternoon, a brief badge presentation ceremony was held at the Oneida County Jail to recognize the Correction Officers that recently completed the 2025-1 Basic Corrections Academy. The Corrections Academy consists of several weeks of classroom learning, practical exercises, physical fitness training, and military drills.

A formal and joint graduation ceremony for these new officers will be held in the fall in conjunction with the completion of the 2025-2 Basic Corrections Academy. Typically, two Basic Corrections academies are held annually in Oneida County.
