The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office held its annual Awards…
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office held its annual Awards Recognition Breakfast this morning at Harts Hill Inn in Whitesboro. The awards presented at today’s ceremony reflect various awards, commendations, and acknowledgments from incidents, investigations, and arrests throughout the 2024 calendar year. In addition to the specific awards listed, several members were acknowledged for their years of service with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and/or promotions that they received during 2024.
Queens Honor Award
Presented as a public salute and an expression of a law enforcement officer’s "Love and Thanks" to the significant other in his / her life, for the special understanding in sharing the problems of the tour of duty.

In addition to the awards given to the Sheriff’s Office members - Indium Corporation, Mastrovito Hyundai, and Adirondack Bank were each recognized for their significant contributions that made it possible for the Sheriff’s Office to add three K9’s ( “Indi”, “Mastro”, and “Addie” ) to our K9 Unit at the Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Paul Jensen, father of fallen Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen, was also presented with a plaque honoring the sacrifice of his son. The fourth K9 that joined the Sheriff’s Office last year was purchased with drug forfeiture funds and was given the name “Jensen”. The name was chosen by the Jensen family.
