According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center(CAC), a Rome man was arrested by members of the CAC on May 29, 2025. The investigation commenced on May 29, 2025, when the CAC received a report regarding sexual abuse of a child. The investigation was assigned to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Investigator Alicia Marconi. Upon completion of the investigation, it was found that Keshawn Ware, age 26, had subjected a female child under the age of 11 to sexual contact in the City of Utica, between September of 2021 and June of 2022. On May 29, 2025, Ware was located in the City of Rome and subsequently arrested by Inv. Marconi and OCSO Inv. Mark Chrysler and charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Class B Felony. Ware was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and then arraigned at Centralized Arraignment Court. Upon arraignment, Ware was remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, who has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center. Oneida County Child Protective Services and the Rome Police Department assisted with this investigation.
