According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; on 6/16/25, Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a previous physical domestic dispute that occurred on 6/15/25. On 6/17/25 Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies and NYSP K9 Units were attempting to locate the suspect for his arrest in the Town of Augusta just after 3:00pm. As a result the suspect, Philip N. Mavica of Ilion, fled the scene on foot. Deputies engaged in a brief foot pursuit and the suspect was successfully apprehended when a Deputy deployed his Taser. Mavica was arrested and transported to the Wynn Hospital for Evaluation. Once released, Mavica was transported to the Kurt Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was charged with the following. -Obstruction of Governmental Administration-Resisting Arrest-Criminal Mischief X2-Harassment X2 Mavica also had an active Arrest Warrant stemming from a previous failure to comply with Law Enforcement on 6/9/25. He was charged with the following. -Reckless driving-Unlawful fleeing from a police officer-Several VTL Violations Returnable to Sangerfield Town Court. Mavica was transported to Oneida County Jail and held while awaiting Centralized Arraignment. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division was assisted by the New York State Police, The Oriskany Falls Fire Department, Main St Auto Care, and Central Oneida County Ambulance.
