According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; a Lee Center man was arrested after a domestic incident that occurred in the Town of Lee. On July 8, 2025, Road Patrol Deputies were called for a domestic in progress in the Town of Lee. Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with the victim, who reported that she is the protected party on an order of protection against the suspect. She also reported that there was a verbal domestic incident that escalated to physical when the suspect pushed her to the ground, violating the active order of protection.

Upon completion of the investigation, Louis J. Higby, 48, was arrested and charged with Criminal Contempt 1st, Class E felony and Harassment 2nd, a violation.

Higby was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing.

Higby was held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
