According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Town of Westmoreland man has been arrested for Grand Larceny.
On July 9, 2025, the Sheriff's Office Road Patrol Unit received a complaint from a victim who had hired a local contractor on June 13, 2025, to demolish a building he owned in the Town of Kirkland. The contractor was paid $4,000 and the building demolition was never completed. The case was then turned over to the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit for further investigation.
On September 3, 2025, the contractor, John Feketa, age 58, was located by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit and charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D Felony. Feketa was processed at the Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Building and was held pending an arraignment in CAP Court. After arraignment, Feketa was remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility without bail.
