According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a one car motor vehicle accident on Fountain St in the Town of Kirkland on September, 4th, 2025.
Upon deputies arrival, it was determined that the accident was a rollover with an entrapped driver. Subsequent to the investigation it was determined that Patricia M. Cerda (22) of Wellesley, MA was operating a Grey BMW SUV in a southern direction on Fountain St. Due to driver distraction and imprudent speed for the wet road conditions, the vehicle left the roadway off of the shoulder, and struck a utility pole causing the vehicle to roll over.
Cerda was transported by COCVAC Ambulance to the Wynn Hospital for treatment on non life-threatening injuries. Fountain St remained closed for a period of time while National Gird crews completed repairs and work on the damaged utilities. The roadway has since been reopened.
The Sheriff's Office would like to thank Clinton Collision, National Grid, New York State Police, Central Oneida County Ambulance, and Clinton Fire Department for their assistance on scene.
