According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Unit is currently conducting a Criminal Mischief investigation that occurred in the Town of Kirkland.

The incident occurred between September 9, 2025 and September 10, 2025, possibly during the overnight hours, where someone in a vehicle or a side by side UTV had driven through two soy bean fields, one located on Skyline drive near the radio tower that is south of Reservoir Road, and the other being on the south side of the seasonal road known as Cemetery Road, which runs between Skyline Drive and Skinner Road. This caused extensive damage to the soybean crops.
