According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, an inmate…
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, an inmate at the Oneida County Correctional Facility has been arrested for Promoting Prison Contraband.
On November 13, 2025, Corrections Officers conducted a sweep of numerous cells inside the facility and found that the sole occupant of one cell, being 39-year-old Lovenson McRae, of Utica, was in possession of three homemade weapons. Due to the nature of the charges involved, the case was turned over to the Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Unit.
On November 17, 2025, McRae was charged with two counts of Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, which are Class D felonies, and one count of Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
McRae was processed and returned to the Correctional Facility where he will be arraigned at CAP Court on the listed charges.
