According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a Verona man was arrested after an investigation into a domestic incident in the Town of Verona.

On November 18th, 2025, Patrol Deputies responded to a report of a Domestic at a residence in the Town of Verona. Upon completion of the investigation, it was determined that Zachary T Hitchings , 29, had engaged in a verbal argument with the victim, which turned physical while there had been a child present.

Hitchings was arrested and ultimately charged with the following:

Harassment 2nd, a Violation.Criminal Mischief 4th (preventing emergency call), a Class A Misdemeanor.Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Hitchings was transported to the Kurt B Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing, and was transported to the Oneida County Jail where he is being held pending arraignment at the Oneida County Central Arraignment Court.
