According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on November 18th, 2025, at around 9:50pm, Deputies were dispatched to Blackmans Corners Road in the Town of Verona for a report of a Motor Vehicle Accident with personal injury.

Subsequent to an investigation, it was determined that a single vehicle was traveling northwest on Blackmans Corners Road in the Town of Verona. While traveling northwest on Blackmans Corners Rd, the operator of the vehicle lost control and exited the roadway before colliding with a tree. The driver was pronounced deceased as a result of the collision. There was a passenger who was transported to Wynn Hospital with serious injuries. The accident is still under investigation at this time.

Blackmans Corners Road was closed for the duration of the investigation, but has since been reopened to the public.

The deceased and the passenger’s names will not be released at this time.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Verona Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance Service.
