According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Town of Verona man was arrested on multiple Felony Warrants in the Town of Verona.

On November 24th, 2025, at around 10:15 p.m., Road Patrol Deputies responded to a residence on State Route 31 near Germany Rd in the Town of Verona following a report of a dispute in progress. Shortly after arrival, it was determined that one of the parties involved in the dispute was a wanted person out of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office for Burglary in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony. The suspect, Patrick Higgins (Age 36), was also wanted by the New York State Police on felony charges. Higgins originally refused to exit the residence, so a perimeter was established and OCSO Negotiators responded to the scene to assist. With the assistance of Negotiators, Higgins eventually surrendered himself at around 1:00 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident.

Higgins will be transported and held at the Oneida County Jail pending an appearance in the Oneida County Court. The Road Patrol Division was assisted on scene by the OCSO Criminal Investigations Unit, OCSO Negotiators, and the New York State Police.
