According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on January 31st, 2026, at approximately 9:19 P.M. Deputies responded to a two car personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of State Route 12 and Shanley Road, in the Town of Paris. Deputies determined that Alexander Toothill, age 21, from Tallahassee, Florida, was traveling west on Shanley Road in a 2018 Ford pickup truck when he collided with a 2015 Ford Focus, traveling south on State Route 12, driven by Steven Loudon, age 68, of Waterville. Paris Hill Fire Department and Edwards Ambulance responded to the scene and Loudon and his passenger, Linda Loudon, age 67, of Waterville, were both transported to the Community Memorial Hospital for their injuries. Toothill and his passenger, Robert Harriss, age 62, of Oriskany Falls, were evaluated by EMS on scene. None of the injuries appeared life threatening. Deputies determined that Toothill was at fault for the accident and that he failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign located at the intersection of Shanely Road and State Route 12.
