Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick…
Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, announces the arrest of Tiffany Gray, age 36, of Rome. On January 30, 2026, Sergeant Melissa Bolton and Rome P.D. Detective Alexis Perry, both of whom are assigned at the CAC, located and arrested Gray in the City of Rome as the result of an investigation conducted by Sgt. Bolton in January 2026. Through investigation, it was learned that on January 5, 2026, Gray facilitated phone contact between two children and an adult male. Gray allowed this phone contact despite being aware that there was an active stay away order of protection in effect on behalf of both children against the adult male. Gray was charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Separate to the above listed charges, Gray was also charged with one count of Tampering with a Witness in the Fourth Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both Class A Misdemeanors. These charges are the result of a subsequent investigation conducted by Sgt. Bolton which found that on January 27, 2026, Gray had engaged in a text message conversation with a child witness in a pending CAC investigation in an attempt to have the victim change her testimony.
Gray was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility pending arraignment at Centralized Arraignment Court. Orders of protection have been requested on behalf of the children.
