Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, announces the arrest of Joseph Mickle, age 39. Mickle is currently incarcerated at the Oneida County Correctional Facility as the result of a 2025 investigation conducted by the CAC. In January 2026, Sergeant Melissa Bolton, who is assigned at the CAC, commenced an investigation into phone contact Mickle had with two children on January 5, 2026. This contact was in direct violation of an active stay away order of protection that was in effect on behalf of the children against Mickle. On January 29, 2026 Mickle was arrested by OCSO Sergeant Melissa Bolton and charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. Mickle was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment Court on January 29, 2026 and held at the OCCF on $25,000 cash bail/$75,000 bail bond/$200,000 partially secured surety bond. Mickle will appear in Whitestown Court at a later date.
