According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on February 1st, 2026, a New York Mills man was arrested following a vehicle and traffic stop.
On February 1st, 2026, at approximately 10:45 PM, an Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Rogue while traveling on State Route 5, in the Town of Kirkland. During the traffic stop, the Deputy learned the driver had an order of protection in effect against the passenger, Colin J. Volo, age 28, from New York Mills. After deputies further investigated, Volo was taken into custody for Criminal Contempt. Volo was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Building for processing.
Volo was arrested and charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree (Class A Misdemeanor). After processing, Volo was held at the Oneida County jail pending arraignment in CAP Court.
