According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a…
According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a City of Rome man was arrested following a Property Damage Motor Vehicle Accident in the Town of Westmoreland.
On February 11th, 2026, at around 8:18 p.m., Road Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a one car property damage motor vehicle accident into a telephone pole on Bartlett Rd in the Town of Westmoreland. Upon their arrival, Deputies discovered that the operator of the vehicle had fled the scene on foot, where he was located shortly after walking away from the accident scene. Upon speaking with the operator, Deputies detected indicators of impairment on the operator of the motor vehicle and conducted a DWI investigation. Subsequent to an investigation, John Molnar (Age 27) of Rome, NY, was arrested and charged with the following:
-(1) Count of Felony Driving While Intoxicated, a class E Felony. -Several other traffic violations and one traffic misdemeanor.
Molnar was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing and was held in the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment in CAP Court.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Westmoreland Vol. Fire Department and National Grid.
