Yesterday, Lieutenant Langheinrich and Sergeant Walts patrolled the trail systems throughout Rome, Taberg, Lee, and Ava. They also patrolled the Town of Verona along the Old Erie Canal State Historic Park trail to Sconondoa in Verona.

During their patrol, they interacted with and assisted many riders who were out enjoying the trails. They also spoke with cross-country skiers, who reported that snowmobilers were exercising due care and slowing down when passing.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to chat or offered a friendly wave along the way.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Recreation Unit would like to remind everyone getting out to enjoy some of the best our county has to offer:

Ride Safe- Always tell someone your plans and when you expect to return- Respect landowners- Stay on the trail- Obey posted speed limits- Ride sober- Ride right
