According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Cold Brook man was arrested for Felony DWI following a welfare check/traffic investigation in the Town of Trenton.

On February 14th, 2026, at approximately 2:00 am there was a report of a motor vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on State Street in the Town of Trenton. It was reported that a male operator was unconscious in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Following an investigation into this call for service, the operator was arrested for driving while intoxicated by a Deputy assigned to the STOP DWI unit. The operator of the vehicle, Michael D. Stanczyk, 61, was charged with:

Michael D. Stanczyk was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing, where he was held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment at CAP Court.
