According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Waterville man has been arrested following an investigation into an alleged larceny complaint in the Village of Waterville.

On 02/23/26, at 9:01 am, a Patrol Deputy assigned to the Waterville Field Office responded to a reported larceny complaint on Stafford Ave North in the Village of Waterville. The Deputy on scene was able to ascertain that no larceny had occurred. Later at approximately 11:26 am, Cameron Buell, 23 of Waterville contacted the Oneida County 911 Center 11 additional times to report an alleged emergency and also threatened physical harm to a dispatcher. A deputy and troopers arrived on scene to confirm there had been no presenting emergency.

While on scene Buell threatened to shoot at officers and punched a Deputy in the head before he resisted arrest and was taken into custody. Buell was then transported to the Wynn Hospital for treatment.

Upon his release on 2/27/26, Cameron was arrested and transported to the Waterville Field Office for processing and charged with the following:
