According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Verona woman was arrested following a DWI Investigation on State Route 31 in the Town of Verona. On April 16th, 2026, at approximately 2014 hours a Road Patrol Deputy conducted a Traffic Stop on State Route 31 in the Town of Verona after observing multiple vehicle and traffic violations committed by an individual operating a 2011 Jeep Compass. During the traffic stop Deputies observed signs of impairment from the operator. Subsequent to an investigation the operator of the vehicle was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated by a Deputy assigned to the STOP DWI Unit. The operator of the vehicle, Jennifer J. Carson, age 54, was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree, as well as additional NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law misdemeanors and violations.

Carson was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing, where she was ultimately released to be arraigned at Verona Town Court on a later date.
