According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on 04/29/2026 at approximately 6:15 a.m., Road Patrol Deputies were dispatched to State Route 8 in the Town of Paris for a Motor Vehicle Accident with unknown injuries. While on scene, Deputies located an unoccupied vehicle partially in a creek down an earth embankment and discovered that the operator had fled the scene. No other parties were located in or around the vehicle and there were no reported injuries. The Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Cassville FD and Clinton Collision. The accident is still under investigation and citations will be issued to the operator once located.
