According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Town of Floyd man was injured following a one car personal injury motor vehicle accident in the Town of Floyd.

On May 2nd, 2026, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Road Patrol Deputies were dispatched to River Road in the Town of Floyd for a report of a one car personal injury motor vehicle accident. Subsequent to an investigation, Deputies determined that Michael Giordano (Age 31) was operating a 2018 Subaru Legacy, before exiting the roadway and colliding head on with a tree. Giordano was transported to the Wynn Hospital by Amcare Ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Giordano was issued a traffic citation returnable to the Floyd Town Court on a later date.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Amcare Ambulance, the Floyd Vol. Fire Department, and the New York State Police.
