According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Clinton man has been arrested on numerous charges stemming from a Domestic Incident. On June 13, 2026, at about 10:45 PM, a Sherrill Police Officer was alerted to a Domestic Incident that had just occurred outside his jurisdiction, and the male party had fled in a 2020 Dodge Charger. A description of the suspect and the vehicle was then broadcast to other patrols through the Oneida County 911 Center. A short time later, a Sheriff’s Deputy located the Dodge Charger in a parking lot in the Village of Clinton. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on this vehicle and attempted to have the driver, named Kenneth J. Hollenbeck III, step out of his vehicle so the investigation could continue. Hollenbeck refused the lawful orders and accelerated his Charger at a high rate of speed and rammed the marked Sheriff’s 2025 Ford Explorer. The Deputy had stepped away from the accelerating vehicle and was not injured. As Hollenbeck fled, Deputies attempted to stop him throughout the Town of Kirland and Westmoreland, and into the outer district of Rome where he abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. Hollenbeck was apprehended a short time later and found that he had sustained minor injuries from running and hiding in the woods. He was taken to Wynn Hospital for treatment. On June 14, 2026, Hollenbeck was released from the hospital and was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and charged with the following Penal Law charges: -Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor (4 counts)-Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor-Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor-Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor Hollenbeck was issued appearance tickets for the charges and numerous traffic tickets. He was then released. Due to the extensive damage done to the Sheriff’s patrol car, the case was turned over to the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit for further investigation. An estimate was later received, finding that Hollenbeck had done more than $4,800 worth of damage to the patrol car. On June 22, 2026, Hollenbeck turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office where he was further charged with one count of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony. Hollenbeck was held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility where he was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. The investigation remains ongoing.
