According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Road Patrol Deputies responded to a vehicle fire on Mohawk St in the Town of Marcy.
On June 23rd, 2026, at around 10:15 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to assist the Maynard Fire Department with a vehicle fire on Mohawk St in the Town of Marcy. The vehicle had originally been BOLO’d (Be on the lookout) on State Route 49 as a FedEx Tractor Trailer that smelled like its brakes were burning.
After exiting State Route 49, the FEDEX Tractor Trailer had pulled over onto Candella Express Dr off of Mohawk St and the driver contacted 911 for one of the trailers having caught fire. The fire was put out by the Maynard Fire Department and no injuries were reported. The fire appeared to have been caused by the brakes of the vehicle.
The Whitesboro Fire Department and the New York State Police also assisted on scene.
