According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Syracuse man was arrested following a stolen vehicle complaint that originated from the City of Oneida.

On July 13th, 2026, around 5:04 PM Deputies were dispatched to the area of Foodland, located at 5343 E Seneca Street in the Village of Vernon, for a report of a stolen vehicle that was pinging in the area. Deputies were able to locate the stolen vehicle and subsequently located 30-year-old Mitchell Roehm in possession of the vehicle.Mitchell was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Building (LEB) where he was booked and processed for one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, a Class E Felony pursuant to section 165.45(5) of the New York State Penal Law.

Mitchell was then escorted to CAP Court where he was released. Mitchell is due back in Vernon Town Court at a later date and time.
