According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on July…
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on July 24th, 2026, at approximately 04:25 P.M., Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle, that occurred at the intersection of State Route 5 and French Rd in the Town of Kirkland.
On scene, Deputies determined that Frederick Harvey, of Clinton, NY, who was operating a Kawasaki Motorcycle and was operating south on French Rd, when he approached the stop sign at the intersection with State Route 5. He then proceeded through the intersection, in an attempt to turn onto State Route 5 in an eastern direction. At this time, Theresa Campese, of Clinton, NY, was operating a Toyota Tacoma and was operating west on State Route 5 when Harvey entered the intersection in front of her. Campese made attempts to avoid the motorcycle, but was unable to navigate around Harvey, causing a motor vehicle collision.
Harvey was evaluated on scene by medical personnel for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to Wynn Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
The investigation is ongoing and no citations have been issued at this time.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Clinton Fire Department, Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps., Kirkland Police Department, Next Generation Towing, and Kirkland Automotive.
