According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a North Brookfield man was arrested for a Burglary that occurred in the Village of Oriskany Falls.

On August 16th, 2026, it was alleged that the suspect entered a private residence in the early morning hours and stole items while the homeowners were inside. Deputies were able to locate the suspect a short distance from the residence. The suspect was taken into custody, and Deputies located the items missing from the residence. While Deputies were investigating the case, they found the suspect to be in possession of a controlled substance.

Due to the nature of the complaint, Investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit were assigned to work the case.

On August 16th, 2026, Joseph J. Walker, age 19 was charged with:

One Count of Burglary 2nd (C Felony)One Count of Petit Larceny (A Misdemeanor) One Count of Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th (A Misdemeanor)

Walker was brought to the Law Enforcement building where he was booked, processed, and brought to the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await CAP court. Walker was released on his own recognizance after CAP court.
