According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, a Rome woman was arrested on August 25th, 2026, following a physical domestic dispute. On August 25th, 2026, at or about 12:40am, Road Patrol Deputies responded to a residence, located in the City of Rome, regarding an abandoned call. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that a physical domestic dispute occurred between two parties involving a weapon. An uncooperative female was detained shortly after. Further investigation was completed by responding Deputies. It was determined that the uncooperative female was physical with the victim and threatened to stab him with a knife while an active Order of Protection was in place. As a result, Jennifer L. Pought (56), of Rome was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (E Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (A Misdemeanor), Menacing in the Second Degree (A Misdemeanor), (2) counts of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (A Misdemeanors) and Harassment in the Second Degree (Violation). Pought was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing. Pought was processed and turned over to the Oneida County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

Road Patrol Deputies were assisted by members of the Criminal Investigations Unit during this investigation.
