The Sheriff’s Office has, for several years, partnered with Safe Schools Mohawk Valley on several initiatives as we work together with our youth to build positive futures for them.

This past Thursday was the graduation ceremony for their second annual “Urban Leadership Institute”.

More than 80 students from across Oneida County took part in this year’s program developing leadership skills while learning directly from our local law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS professionals.

Sheriff Maciol also had the opportunity to address the students before presenting them with their well deserved graduation certificates.

Thank to all of our first responder partners that took time out of their busy schedules to spend time with these students. Special thanks to Sgt. Rick Stanek for working with the students as they spent the day at the Police Academy.
