This past Monday, Sheriff Maciol joined NYS Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, District Attorney Todd Carville, and Guardians of Freedom Founder John Brezinski as we recognized Police Dog Day in the State of New York. We welcomed local K-9 teams to Kookie's Q & Creamery in Utica for an ice cream social honoring their service.

Those at the event included the Oneida County Sheriff's Office (Lt. Cusack and K-9 Jensen, Sgt. Baker and K-9 Blaise, and Sgt. Dorr and K-9 Mastro), the City of Utica Police Department (Sgt. Kellogg and K-9 Vigo) , the City of Rome Police Department (Prlm. Pelton and K-9 Vator), the New Hartford Police Department (Sgt Allen and K-9 JC), and the New York State Police (Trooper Nolan and K-9 Rya).

They were each recognized and presented with a New York State Assembly Resolution honoring their outstanding contributions to public and community safety and for the selfless courage and dedication demonstrated day-after-day by police dogs and their handling officers across our great state.
