According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a state of Oklahoma man has been arrested in connection with a Burglary investigation in the Town of Forestport. On August 27th, 2026, Deputies responded to a Burglary complaint on North Lake Road in the town of Foresport. Due to the nature of the complaint, the investigation was turned over to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit. Investigators found during the investigation that a male was seen around the area of the residence wearing clothing that was reported missing from inside the residence. Located inside the residence there was information with the suspect's full name. Investigators were able to identify the male as Gary Black age 56 of Oklahoma, who was recently arrested by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office for an unrelated incident. It was made known to Investigators that Gary Black had been looking to leave the area and was reported by New York State Police Schenectady to be in Altamont New York on August 29th. Due to the unknown location of Gray Black, a warrant was issued out of the Town of Forestport.

In the late hours of September 20th, 2026, the Village of Kings Point Police Department on Long Island New York contacted the Oneida County Sheriffs Warrant Unit to advise that they had located Gary Black. The Investigators assigned to the Onieda County Sheriffs Warrants Unit picked up Gary Black and brought him back to the Oneida County Correctional Facility for his arrest warrant. Gary Black also had a Bench Warrant out of the Town of Florence. Gary Black was charged with:

Burglary in the Second Degree (C Felony)Burglary in the Third Degree ( D Felony) Petit Larceny ( A Misdemeanor)

Gary Black was held on his charges and is to appear in court at a later date.
