According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, on October 6th, 2026 a Cleveland NY man was arrested following a criminal mischief investigation. On April 10th, 2026, at approximately 12:42pm, Road Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a property located on State Route 49, in the Town of Vienna, regarding a criminal mischief complaint. It was reported to deputies that the victims 1989 Bounder RV motor home had been destroyed, and the chassis was reportedly missing.
The case was turned over to members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Unit. After further investigation was completed, it was learned that Alexander B. Newman (33) of Cleveland NY was responsible for damaging the victims RV motor home and scrapping the chassis at a local scrap yard for payment.
Several attempts to locate Newman were made by members of the Road Patrol and Criminal Investigations Unit, with negative results. On August 31st, 2026, an Arrest Warrant for Alexander B. Newman was signed and issued by the Town of Vienna Court. On October 6th, 2026, Alexander B. Newman was taken into custody at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building by members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Warrants Unit. Newman was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree (D Felony) and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (E Felony). Newman was processed and turned over to the Oneida County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.
