Over the last two months, three long time employees of the…
Over the last two months, three long time employees of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office have retired after many years of dedicated service.
Correction Officer Jason Vance retired on December 1st after 25 years of service. During his career, Officer Vance has worked in both the Civil and Corrections Divisions and has received numerous trainings and certifications. He was awarded the Ready Commendation and the Good Conduct Award on (4) separate occasions.
Lieutenant Peter Healt retired on January 23rd after 30 years of service beginning as a Deputy, followed by promotions to the rank of Investigator, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. Lieutenant Healt worked in the Uniform Patrol Division, Forensic Identification Unit, and the IT Unit. He has received numerous trainings and certifications throughout his career and received numerous awards including: Outstanding Deputy, Promotion of Grade (2 times), Honorable Service, Presidential Detail Citation, Good Conduct (4 times), Grand Cordon (11 times), Unit Citation, and Exceptional Service (4 times).
Sergeant Thomas Pietruch retired on January 23rd after 30 years of service beginning as a Deputy followed by promotions to Investigator and then to Sergeant. Sgt. Pietruch worked in Uniform Patrol and the Criminal Investigation Unit. He also has received numerous trainings and certifications throughout his career and received numerous awards including: Honorable Service (2 times), Promotion of Grade, Exceptional Service, Ready Commendation, Galantry Star, Good Conduct (5 times), Presidential Detail Citation, and the Grand Cordon (18 times).
We thank each of these members for their commitment of keeping our community safe throughout their careers. We wish them nothing but health and happiness in all of their future endeavors.
