According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Town of Verona man was arrested following a dispute that occurred in the Town of Verona.
On March 21st, 2025 at around 10:15 pm, Deputies responded to a dispute in progress located on Oneida Street in the Town of Verona. After an investigation, Road Patrol Deputies determined that Chase E. Newman had violated an order of protection by physical contact.
Deputies arrested and charged Newman with (1) Count of Criminal Contempt 1st- a Class E Felony, (1) Count of Criminal Contempt 2nd- a Class A Misdemeanor, and (1) Count of Harassment 2nd- a Violation. Newman was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing, before being turned over to the County Jail pending his arraignment.
