According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M Maciol, on April 4th, 2025, a Lee Center man was arrested for assaulting a Correctional Officer in the Oneida County Correctional Facility on April 1st, 2025.
On April 1st, 2025, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division responded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility located in the Town of Whitestown regarding an assault investigation. Upon the Deputies arrival, they learned that during the morning meal service, the Correction Officer was attempting to serve the inmate his breakfast tray when the inmate kicked his cell door open, causing the door to strike the Officer. It was further learned that the inmate had struck the Correction Officer in the head with a closed fist multiple times. The Officer was subsequently transported to Oneida Hospital where he was diagnosed with a closed head injury.
The investigation was then turned over to members of the Criminal Investigative Unit. As a result, Ethan Adsit (24) was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony. Adsit remains in the Oneida County Correctional Facility, awaiting Centralized Arraignment.
