According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on July 15th 2025 at around 7pm, Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident on Youngs Road located in the Town of Vernon.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Erin Kirk (23) of Vernon was operating a 2014 Volkswagen in an Easterly direction on Youngs Road. Dakota Kimball (29) of Oriskany Falls was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle in a westerly direction on Youngs Road when Kirk, failing to yield the right of way, attempted to make a left hand turn into the driveway of her residence causing Kimball to strike the passenger side of her vehicle. Kimball was evaluated on scene for his injuries and denied further medical treatment on scene.

Kirk was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way while making a left-hand turn, returnable to Vernon Town Court at a later date and time.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Vernon Center Fire Department along with Vernon Village Police Department.
