According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a man from the Town of Lee was arrested on a weapons charge stemming from an incident that occurred in the Town of Lee.

On July 30th, 2025, around 10:30 PM Patrol Deputies responded to a neighbor dispute in the Town of Lee. During the course of their investigation, it was learned that 43-year-old Charles Santmyer was in possession of a knife which he had in his hand while disputing with the other party involved. It was further learned that Santmyer had made several stabbing motions, with knife in hand, toward the other involved party.

As a result, Santmyer was arrested and transported to the Oneida County Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building where Santmyer was booked and processed for one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Santmyer was then transported to the Oneida County Correctional Facility where he was held until CAP Court was in session. Santmyer is due back in Lee Town Court on a later date and time.
