According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, James L. Wier (43) of Hamilton, NY was arrested on September 2nd, 2025 for two counts of Leandra's Law DWI and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The traffic stop was conducted in the Village of Clinton by a Deputy assigned to the Oneida County Stop DWI Patrol. Deputies determined after stopping Jamie that his license was revoked with a prior DWI conviction earlier this year, and two children ages 14 and 9 were in the vehicle at the time of the stop. Jamie was charged with numerous other traffic charges including Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree. Jamie was held at the Oneida County Jail to be arraigned on September 3rd, 2025 as part of Centralized Arraignment.
