According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Verona man has been arrested following a Domestic Incident investigation.

On February 26, 2026, Road Patrol Deputies were dispatched by the Oneida County Emergency Services 911 Center, to a residence in the Town of Verona for a reported Domestic. Prior to Deputies arrival the suspect had reportedly left the residence in a vehicle. While Deputies were responding to the residence, the suspect's vehicle was located after it had gone off the roadway. While that was being investigated, other Deputies responded to the residence to investigate the Domestic Incident. It was reported that an argument had ensued between the suspect and the victim over property. The suspect then took the victim's cell phone while the victim was attempting to call 911 for Police assistance. The victim then grabbed a second phone and retreated to a bedroom, to again call 911 for Police assistance. While the victim was in the bedroom, and on the phone with 911, the suspect then began to damage the bedroom door in attempt to get into the bedroom. Once the suspect realized that the victim was on the phone with 911, the suspect then left the residence in a vehicle.

While investigating the domestic, several illegal firearms and ammunition magazines were located within the residence. The Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit also assisted with the investigation.

At the conclusion of the investigation into the Domestic Incident, Nasear L. Walker, age 30, of Verona was arrested and charged with the following:

Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor)Criminal Mischief, in the Fourth Degree (Class A Misdemeanor; 2 Counts) Criminal Possession of a Weapon, in the Third Degree (Class D Felony; 5 Counts)Criminal Possession of a Firearm ( Class E Felony; 3 Counts)

Walker was then turned over to the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await CAP Court. On February 27, 2026, Walker was seen in CAP Court and remanded on bail to the Correctional Facility for the amount of $1,500.00 Cash or Credit Card; $5,000.00 Insurance Company Bail Bond; or $14,900.00 Partially Secured Appearance Bond with a 10% deposit. Walker was able to post bail and has since been released from the Correctional Facility.

An Order of Protection was also issued on behalf of the victim.
