According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, (2) teens have been arrested due to involvement in a burglary that occurred on November 28, 2025 at the Waterville Junior/Senior High School. School officials called OCSO when they returned from Thanksgiving break on December 1, 2025 to find that a classroom window had been broken and that their concession stand had been damaged and vandalized. Members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Patrol division, Forensic Identification Unit and Juvenile Aid Unit responded to the scene to investigate. Camera footage from the school was reviewed and suspects were identified with the cooperation and assistance from the school community as (2) fifteen-year-old male juveniles from the area. As a result of the investigation, one of the juveniles was charged with (2) counts of Criminal mischief in the third degree (a class E Felony) in addition to both of the juveniles being charged each with (2) counts of Burglary in the third degree (a class D Felony) Petit larceny (a class A Misdemeanor) and Criminal tampering in the third degree (a class B Misdemeanor). All of the stolen property has since been recovered and returned to the school in good condition. The names of the juveniles will not be released due to their ages. Both juveniles were released to their parents after being issued appearance tickets which refer them to Oneida County Probation on an upcoming date.
